Using BackerKit
You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the survey invite email, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. If you don’t have access to this survey link yet, it will be available soon via email!
After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

Later Shipping Costs
Due to the volatility of shipping prices and tariffs globally right now, shipping fees, taxes, and tariffs for this project will be calculated at a later date once we have the best estimates for everyone after production. We plan to enter & charge backers for shipping a month or two before fulfilment when we have better estimates of what it will cost to ship your rewards. We will alert backers when shipping costs are finalised & before we charge your cards in your BackerKit survey. We will keep you informed all along the way!

The pre-production copies are an exclusive preview of the new books for backers. They show the books as they are right now, including all the final art and written content. They do not have front covers, credits, contents, an index, or PDF bookmarks. They are also missing their final update for typos, layout, and additional small story texts needed to fill spaces.
Once production begins, the digital downloads will be updated to include ALL of the digital content for this project as well as the final official version of the new book PDFs. When that happen,s you'll receive an email to download them, and I'll post an update here too.

We're extremely proud of what we've created—a comprehensive world guide for our Celtic-inspired lands of Avallen. All thanks to your backing. We're very excited to get it into your hands!
Now we move on to the IMPORTANT final stages of getting everything to you!
I’m confident my work on finishing the project will be completed on time for November, which means delivering the digital products to you all and submitting the production files to the factory. The time it then takes for production and shipping is mostly out of my control, but I will provide you with constant updates and estimates as we proceed together. I’m just as eager as you are to get the books in all of our hands!
Look forward to more frequent updates as things come together! Currently, I am creating the pledge manager in BackerKit (creating surveys, inputting all the product info, etc). At the same time, our layout artist is working on the first full, pre-production version of the book, which will undergo a final check before being handed off to the printers.
Keep an eye out for my next update on Kickstarter, which will let you know what to do with BackerKit to ensure you can get all your awesome Avallen stuff when it's ready!

It's so close now! So close in fact, I want to share a preview of the book with you...
The preview showcases the chapters about the forest-dwelling Pen Baedd {buy-th} clanas well as the chapters which focus on their most closely aligned faerie court, the Court of Branches. Those chapters are...
Player's Guide: Pen Baedd Clan. A guide to making a character within the Pen Baedd clan, as well as all of the common lore and locations known to them.
Player's Guide: Faeseeker of Branches. A guide on how to be a Faeseeker, how to become a Faeseeker for the Court of Branches, and the common lore known about their dryadic ellyll fae.
Gamemaster's Guide: Pen Baedd Adventures. A guide to making adventures within the Pen Baedd clanlands, including juicy uncommon, rare, and legendary lore for all of the tribes and locations mentioned in the Player's Guide, plus a premade Pen Baedd adventure site.
Gamemaster's Guide: Ever Mother's Realm. A guide to making adventures within the Ever Mother's realm of the Otherworld, including the uncommon, rare, and legendary lore for the three Fae Houses within the Court of Branches, plus a premade Otherworldly adventure site.
That's a lot of content! But the complete book will have five times that, plus legendary artifacts and a bestiary. Note: The book has not gone through its final editing pass for typos.
We hope this preview gets you just as hyped for the full thing as we are!

Accomplished in August
Through August for this project, I really put my head down and we achieved the following:
Complete the preliminary layout for over half of the book.
Wrote the entire art book and collated all of the concept art for its layout! The entire layout will also be complete within a few days.
Wrote the lore and designed the Legends of Avallen stat blocks for the entire bestiary! To help finish the project on time, I've reached out to my d20 partner Dice Average for a helping hand with converting those monster blocks to 5E. He previously did excellent work converting the Legendary Paths to 5E subclasses in Against the Faerie Queene.
Designed all of the legendary artifacts for Legends of Avallen and 5E.
Plus many bits and bobs!
At this point, it might be easier to simply list everything that is left to do:
Writing lore and adventures for half of a clan's chapter.
Writing lore and adventures for a faerie court's chapter.
5E conversion of monster stat blocks.
Lore for our legendary artifacts.
Write introductions for three sections of the book.
Finalise the Faerie Tricks and GM Screen.
Pen Baedd lore featuring art for one of their famed canopy villages.
Finishing
As mentioned over the last two updates, I expect all writing to be finished during September, and the final book PDF will follow shortly after. Which means you will get the PDFs before November. Production will then begin on schedule for project completion by November!
That means I will soon open our pledge manager in Backerkit!

August Update - It's All Coming Together!

First spread for our player's guide to the Pen Cawr clan.
July was a busy month for us. We achieved a lot working on this project, but before we get into that, I want to introduce you to the newest member of our team:
King Hadrian Sarubobo II, aka "Bobo".
He's already been hard at work editing my type by walking across my keyboard and altering images by pulling on my mouse. We look forward to seeing what else he brings to the team in the future.
Accomplished in July
Through July for the Faeseeker's book, we achieved the following:
Completed the last of the artwork!
That's 23 full-page illustrations, 22 character illustrations, 37 creature illustrations, and 12 legendary artifact illustrations!
Completed the last of the maps!
That's 5 full-page Avallen adventure maps, 5 full-page Otherworld adventure maps, and one epic map of Avallen including all 112 named locations featured in lore within A Faeseeker's Guide to Avallen!
Wrote the culture, lore, and secrets for two of the Faerie Courts in the Gamemaster's section, and wrote the culture, lore and character creation for the final fifth clan.
That's 19 of 28 chapters finished, and 6 of the remaining 9 chapters are the shortest in the book. Not long to go.
Edited the text and collated the artwork for another 11 chapters.
That's 15 of 28 chapters ready for layout.
Our layout artist has completed the layout for 9 of 28 chapters of the book.
And will have 15 of 28 done by next week.
Character creation tables and way of life for the player's guide to the Pen Draig clan.
This is when things really begin to come together with the final writing, editing, and layout process overlapping as we bring the book to its completion.
As mentioned last month, I expect all writing to be finished during September, and the final book PDF will follow shortly after. Production will then begin on schedule for project completion by November!

July Update - Building Faerie Courts

It's getting hot out there, I hope you're all keeping cool!
I kept wet by visiting the Lake District, where it was raining nonstop. However, I did see some wonderful sights, including the neolithic stone circle at Castlerigg, which has been standing there for over 5,000 years.

Accomplished in June
Through June for the Faeseeker's book, we achieved the following:
Created the new layout style guide, including a beautiful new chapter title design (see below).
Began the task of collecting the text and art for our layout artist so that the book can be made!
Finished that task for four chapters of the book so that layout can begin for them.
Wrote the culture, lore, and secrets in the gamemaster's guide for two of the Faerie Courts and wrote the briefs for two more.
Created 6 illustrations. We're now at 100 out of 105; only three landscapes, one item, and one monster to go!
Created the mammoth art brief for the new full map of Avallen, which will feature over 90 location names!
New chapter title design. Each chapter will begin with a full-page art piece; this one features the private throne room of An Sinser, Brenin of the Pen Afanc isles. Note: the page text is placeholder.
At this rate, I expect all writing to be finished before September and the finished book layout will follow shortly after. Production will then begin on schedule!
