This will likely be my final update for A Faeseeker's Guide to Avallen!
Thank you all for coming with us on this journey to see this book we're so proud of get to print. Everyone received their pledges months ago now, and in late August, A Faeseeker's Guide to Avallen, alongside Legends of Avallen and Against the Faerie Queene, will be available through your local game stores across the UK, EU, and USA!
Doing the logistics and marketing for that will mark the end of my work on this project. So for this final update, I want to share what's been going on behind the scenes these last few months, the fun things we've gotten up to, and what we have planned for the future. There's a lot to cover, so I've made a list so you can find what you want to know!

1. The Odyssey
The Odyssey is the talk of the town, and did you know that you could be wielding Odysseus' bow right now? Flick to page 176 of A Faeseeker's Guide to Avallen, and you'll find it!
Our rendition is less grounded than Nolan's, and inspired by the bow's divine origins in Apollo
Echthra, Bow of Apellon, was entirely based on the bow Odysseus owns. That bow did not have a name, but he treasured it so much that he left it safely at home when he went to war in Troy, because it was gifted to him by the son of Eurytus, the grandson of Apollo, who was slain by Apollo for declaring himself the greatest archer of all time...
When writing our version's lore and abilities, I was most inspired by the acts of brutal vengeance committed with the bow in Homer's tales. I hope your characters are not lured into similar circumstances!
2. UK Warehouse Apologises
Much of the last few months has been spent wrangling with our UK fulfilment partner, Zatu. This has, unfortunately, been a constant stress and annoyance that has taken up far too much of my time. It got so bad that I wrote a list of all the issues I faced and emailed it to the CEO. Since then, things have improved, but during the investigation into why it all went wrong, we found some bigger issues, including the realisation that Zatu did not send tracking information to anyone receiving our packages in the UK or EU. Fortunately, they did have the tracking information, checked it, and we believe everything arrived fine in the end.
Zatu wrote an official apology to me for all of the additional work I had to do to keep track of their issues and help solve them. Zatu also apologised for any difficulties you all faced dealing with them.
So that's that. Now I'm quite happy to put this behind me and not deal with warehouses again for a while.
3. Where's My Stuff???
More than 95% of backers for this project have had their rewards fulfilled!
That's a great number. I thank you all for helping make that happen. However, I can see that 25 backers who pledged for a reward have not filled out their surveys, so I can't send their rewards.
For the last 8 months, I have checked BackerKit every working day to make sure everyone who finishes their survey gets their stuff, even if they finished their survey late. However, from now on, I will no longer check it every day; instead, any late digital-only backers should be auto-fulfilled, and BackerKit will send me an update once a week so I can catch backers who need to receive physical products.

4. UK Games Expo
We went to the UK Games Expo, and it was an awesome time!
Big thanks to everyone who came by to say hello. We loved hearing about your adventures in Avallen, signing your books, and showing our newest goodies! And a big welcome to those who discovered Avallen at the UKGE. We hope you're enjoying our land of Celtic legends!

5. We Made a Magazine! - TCG Leader
We made a magazine! TCG Leader!
Kurt and I met playing TCGs, learnt how to design games through TCGs, and haven't stopped playing TCGs together. So this is a dream come true for us.
Featuring pieces on Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, and more, plus an interview with Veronica Taylor, the original voice actor for Ash Ketchum!
As you can see, the magazine looks amazing. Featuring incredible graphic design by Krissy Diggs, who worked on A Faeseeker's Guide to Avallen, and articles written by us and other TCG legends, including the father of TCGs himself, Richard Garfield.
And you, dear folk, can view the digital edition of our inaugural issue for free right now!
Kurt and I have started streaming again! At the moment, we are having fun playing TTRPGs together. We're currently playing out a multi-part adventure in the playtest for the newest edition of Ironsworn: Legacies! And plan to play Avallen and other games in the future.
Ironsworn is a critically acclaimed, GM-less, solo and co-op RPG, and it influenced my design decisions behind Legends of Avallen, so I was keen to try its new edition!
7. What Future Game Projects Are We Making Now?
A lot... I'm currently working on four projects!
Knock Off!: A bluffing card game where sales are easy when you're sleazy!
Trilogy: A new way to play TTRPGs with the depth and scale of an entire campaign in just three sessions.
WAKE: A cooperative, deckbuilding, adventure game where you save communities from the corrupting wake of fallen gods.
Songs of Iron & Stone: A second edition TTRPG rulebook for the card-based system behind Legends of Avallen, updated and ready for campaigns in any Iron Age setting of myth and legend.
I work slow and steady, and do not put anything out until it's ready to be seen. So it might be some time before those projects come to fruition, but I've been excitedly working on all of them in my spare time for years now!

If you're anywhere outside of North America (like me!), we're now thoroughly behind schedule. This is because our warehouse made a mistake, then repeated it, delaying fulfilment by over two weeks. Needless to say, I was thoroughly frustrated and have stayed on top of them until they fixed it.
In theory, the issue is now resolved, and everyone should have received their pledges or a tracking code!
However, I still have not. So I'm aware there are some lingering orders yet to be fulfilled. If you haven't yet received your pledge yet or a tracking code for it, then please do the following:

I've been getting wonderful messages and photos from folk all over North America showing me their maps, minis, tarot decks and copies of A Faeseeker's Guide to Avallen!
It makes a small-time creator like me jump for joy! So thank you all, truly, for making this all possible.
However, it also makes me jealous! I haven't got mine yet, and I made the bloody thing!
Co-writer Kurt just got his books!

Thank you all so much!
It's been very stressful over here calculating shipping, tax, and tariff costs, while handling a lot of data and making sure I don't screw up everyone's orders. But you all made it so much easier by doing your part!
92% of you have finished all your surveys, provided your addresses, and completed all outstanding payments. It's been exceptionally smooth. So, give yourselves a pat on the back! It's much appreciated.
Shipping Update
If you're receiving physical items from A Faeseeker's Guide to Avallen and you're in the 92%, your warehouse now has your fulfilment order and address! It looks like everything should still be on time for a delivery to you in April. The shipment updates are divided into two; see your region below.
If you aren't in the 92%, you can update your survey by clicking here, and I'll also send you a prompt email, as you might be missing emails from Kickstarter and BackerKit.
USA & Canada
The main bulk shipment has arrived at your warehouse, and the warehouse is processing your order. However, we drew a Joker and rolled a 1 and the Collector's Edition Dust Jackets that arrived in a separate shipment have been subject to a random customs inspection... They are delayed by a week, and this may affect a few orders. My apologies, but my hands are tied.
Your warehouse is Whalebacker. We are partnered with Modiphius, and Whalebacker is Modiphius' warehouse in America and handles all of our shipping there.
You will get an address verification email from [email protected] which gives you one last chance to update your address. If you take no action, the address will be automatically verified, and the order will enter the active postal queue after 7 days.
You will receive a tracking email when your package is posted.
The main bulk shipment arrived in the UK earlier this week and is currently going through customs. Fingers crossed it passes through without much issue!
Your warehouse is Zatu. We are partnered with Modiphius, and Zatu is Modiphius' warehouse in the UK and handles all of our shipping from there.
You will get a tracking email for your order. Stay tuned for additional shipping details as I will know more once the warehouse has the shipment.

48-HOUR NOTIFICATION - IMPORTANT! Shipping Update

Receiving Faeseeker's Stuff?
In 48 hours, on Thursday, the 26th of March 12:00 (UTC+0), BackerKit will charge the card you provided in your backer survey for your shipping costs, taxes, VAT, and any tariffs.
Then your shipping address will be locked!
Before then, you can see your due costs, your payment details, your given address and change your address by revisiting your survey by clicking here.
After then, any delays to your payment could result in a delay in sending your items.
I'll post another update next week to remind you all and let you know how it's going!

Shipping Update
The USA warehouse has received its main shipment of goods. However, it is still waiting on a secondary, smaller shipment.
The UK warehouse has received its secondary, smaller shipment of goods. However, its main shipment is still on a ship, currently off the coast of Spain, and should be due in port within a week.
I currently expect fulfilment to begin for all of you within the next 3-5 weeks.
